Recovering a Worn Out Countertop

In a previous post we talked about how we've used peel and stick wallpaper products to recover walls in our boat. We liked the results so much, we had also used it in our galley to cover the countertops. Images from that project will be in a future post. In this post, we simply show our before and after of the countertop on the aft deck.

The process is super easy and follows the same application as putting it on walls.

Check out our previous post here for complete instructions.

We used a high gloss finish faux marble pattern that instantly boosted the look of the countertop. Installing a new surface such as granite, marble, quartz, corian or laminate was simply not in the budget. Peel and stick paper is cost effective, easy to install, and takes little to no time. No waiting for the installers and if you don't like the results, removal is easy and you can try something else. This print is our second application. The previous product we had on there was a speckled quartz effect and looked great until the counter was used as a workbench for refinishing the swim ladder teak steps and was ruined. I seized the opportunity to pick a different pattern and am in love with the results!

PS. I have bought all of our peel and stick products on Amazon.
